Walbro - Fuel and fuel pumps

Walbro manufactures carburetors, electronic fuel injection systems, ignition systems, fuel tanks, fuel pumps, valves, fuel storage, and distribution systems. Walbro is a global organization with over 2300 employees worldwide. The company has ISO-certified manufacturing and engineering facilities in the United States, Japan, Mexico, Thailand, and China.

1950: Walbro is established in Michigan.
1972: Walbro opens in Kakuda City, Japan.
1977: Walbro establishes a new workshop in Nogales, Mexico.
1989: 100,000,000 accumulated carburetors were now sold worldwide.
1995: Opened in Tianjin, China.
1999: TI Group acquires Walbro Corp - Walbro Engine Management is established.
2000: 50,000,000 accumulated ignition coils sold worldwide - headquartered in Tucson, Arizona.
2005: Opened in Los Mochis, Mexico.
2006: Started production shift from Japan to Thailand and China.
2007: A partner of Sun Capital acquired Walbro Engine Management.
2008: 350,000,000 accumulated carburetors sold worldwide.
2010: 1,000,000 accumulated multilayer tanks sold worldwide.
2011: Opened new tank factory in Thailand.
2012: 2,000,000 accumulated tanks and 400,000,000 accumulated carburetors sold worldwide - Carlyle Japan took over Walbro Engine Management.
2014: 100,000,000 accumulated ignition coils sold worldwide.

TI Automotive is the parent company to Walbro that makes Walbro as well as OE Pumps for many automotive manufacturers.

Previously Walbro pumps were manufactured under their previous quality and manufacturing standards, but recently they adopted the Performance aftermarket side to follow the same, more stringent, manufacturing standards as they are held to on the OE side. This is resulting in an even higher quality product even from what Walbro was previously known for, as well as to help with counterfeit protection.
